The Call for Presentations for International Bullying Prevention Conference sessions closed on February 15, 2016. Applicants were notified via email of their selection status on May 1, 2016

Presenter Registration

Lead presenters for workshops as well as all presenters for TED Inspired sessions receive a complimentary registration to the conference, coupon code to use when registering in posted on your MOU. All presenters must register for the conference prior to October 1.

Help Promote Your Session

Make sure your contacts knows about IBPA and your participation in this great event. Tell people you’re presenting at this year’s conference by placing the “I’m Presenting!” banner on your website, blog, or e-signature. Right-click on the image, or control-click on Mac, to save it to your computer so you can paste it wherever you’d like.

Professional Learning Contact Hours

IBPA is an approved provider of contact hours through the National Board of Certified Counselors, each workshop that provides NBCC contact hours will be noted in the onsite printed program. In addition, CEUs are available through Tulane University for all sessions.

App Instructions for Presenters

As a presenter at the IBPA Annual Conference, you have the opportunity to share your bio and resources electronically to expand your reach through our conference mobile app. (Download the conference app at any time for no cost, search for IBPAconf in the app store or google play.) Once you submit your handouts to us at info@ibpaworld.org, they will be posted in your session on the app along with an evaluation form for your session. If you would like to share printed copies of your handouts please check with us the first week of October for an estimate of attendees for your session by emailing info@ibpaworld.org. IBPA does not print handouts for sessions.

SESSION GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTERS

Workshop Guidelines

Before Your Session

Please be sure you have the correct date, time, and room number of your session You may enter your session room 25-minutes before your start time to test the AV equipment and get your laptop set up.

Please Check the Room Set and Audio Visual (AV)

Rooms include a table at the door for handouts and evaluations, a head table, podium with a wired microphone, LCD projector, Projector remote, screen, and audio sound patch. If there is a problem with the room set, inform the moderator of your session or come by the IBPA registration desk and we will be happy to assist you. Each presenter is responsible to bring their own laptop.

Connect to Wi-Fi

There is Wi-Fi in all meeting rooms this year, enter Wi-Fi code IBPA16.

Identify your Moderator

This is a volunteer that will be welcoming the attendees and will be your first point of contact if you have an AV issue or need assistance. The facilitator will also be taking a head count of the attendees and posting the Session Full signs if your room fills to capacity. They can also assist pass out handouts if you brought printed copies, and can remind attendees of the session evaluations at the end of your session. Moderators are not part of your session and are not co-presenting with you. This is completely voluntarily, so please thank your moderator. We try our best to have a facilitator for each session, but if you do not have one, Lynn Lonsway is your point of contact and can be reached by text at 248-214-6425.

Handouts

If you have provided electronic versions of your handouts, they will be available to all attendees during and after the conference on the app. You may also print your own paper copies for attendees, we do not have the ability to print additional copies if you run short onsite. Extras may be placed on the take-one display table.

Remind Attendees to Complete the Session Evaluations

They may complete the evaluation electronically on the conference app, or there is a paper evaluation located in the back of their program book that and can be removed, completed, and returned to the back of any meeting room in the evaluation drop.

 

TED Inspired Guidelines

What is a TED inspired Session? These sessions will run concurrently with other workshops at the conference. Each TED inspired session is in its own meeting room. There is a large time clock in the room for all to easily see the time for each of the 3 TED inspired sessions being presented.

Schedule:

0:00 – 0:20 ………………………………………………….. first topic listed in the program (20 minutes)

0:20 – 0:40 ………………………………………………….. second topic listed in the program (20 minutes)

0:40 – 0:60 ………………………………………………….. third topic listed in the program (20 minutes)

last 15 minutes of the session ………………………. q&a between participants and 3 presenters

Room Set-up and Audio/Visual Information

Audio/Visual for Workshop and TED inspired Sessions

The following Audio/Visual will be provided in each session room:

  • LCD Projector — Includes: Screen and a projector with VGA (standard definition) and HDMI (High Definition) inputs.
  • Podium and Microphone — A wired microphone will be at each podium
  • Wireless Internet Access — enter wifi code: IBPA16
  • Laptop Audio Sound Patch — Have music or videos in your presentation? Connect your computer to the house sound. (sound patch is required if you have sound during your presentation)
  • Projector Remote — Be mobile and control your PowerPoint from anywhere in the room.

Note: Presenters must bring their own laptops, they are not supplied by the conference.

Rooms are set up theater style with a table by the back of the room for any handouts you bring and for attendees to pick up and drop off evaluation forms. We strongly encourage attendees to use the evaluation form on the conference app.
